Same. I've heard people comment on her "great beauty". Umm...no.
She always looked old to me for some reason. She had this old woman look to her.
Can't explain it. Anyway, no. I never thought of her as beautiful. Not even pretty.
Susan St. James. Jennifer O'Neal. Cybil Shepard. Jacqueline Bisset. I considered beautiful.

Ryan O’Neal had one of those WASPY sensitive jocks faces but seemed like an egotistic insensitive Dad, at least that’s how it came across in Tatum’s book (borrowed it from library.) that he partied with underaged her and very young Melanie Griffith. A very complicated and odd relationship between father and daughter.

For some reason I thought he would have been older than 82.

Back when Farrah died, Ryan stated flirting with Tatum at the viewing, not realizing that was his daughter. So much for Farrah being the love of Ryan's life. I don't think he ever stopped chasing women.

Tatum O'Neal forgives father Ryan and makes a plea for him to do the same after years of feuding - Published: 16:44 EST, 28 March 2018 | Updated: 19:22 EST, 28 March 2018

One of Tatum and Ryan's most bizarre fallings out occurred in 2009, when they both attended the funeral for his former partner Farrah Fawcett.

Ryan, 76, admitted to flirting with his daughter - whose mother is Joanna Moore - at the service without realising who she was.

He explained: 'I had just put the casket in the hearse and was watching it drive away, when a beautiful blond woman comes up and embraces me.

'I said to her, "You have a drink on you? You have a car?" She said, "Daddy, it's me - Tatum!"'

The A Bridge Too Far actor admitted that the surreal incident epitomised their complex relationship.

Ryan - who was estranged from his daughter for years - said: 'That's our relationship in a nutshell. You make of it what you will.'

The more messed up his life became, the more I drifted away from him as an actor.

The last film I enjoyed him in was "Chances Are" in 1989.

I thought she was pretty bad, too. I thought it was funny how she looked like the picture of health right up to the moment she died. Regardless, the theme at the end still brings a tear to my eye.

He wasn't really a good person. Got his oldest son hooked on drugs at 11. Cheated on Farah (who would ever cheat on Farah?) Came on to his daughter at Farah's funeral because he didn't recognize her. Really, even if he didn't recognize her why would he be coming on to anyone at her funeral. Drugs and alcohol and a temper.

I think some people can be born too good looking for their own good.

What is the problem you have with her nostrils? I have seen many photos of her, and I never even noticed her nostrils -- and so I looked at some of her photos again, and I still don't see anything out of the ordinary or wrong with them.

FAIR WARNING The link below takes you to an article with gratuitously coarse language and crass comments.

This is a slightly different and entertaining analysis of Love Story. It touches on Ryan’s acting, his chemistry with Ali, Ali’s nose, snow, and more.

That was hilarious -- even though I disagree about Ali MacGraw's looks. Thick eyebrows were fashionable for a while (think Brooke Shields and Margaux Hemingway, along with some others I could name).

I actually did a Google search right now, and the closest I could find to a pug nose was the snub nose, which, according to link below (my bold) is:
Quote:
The Snub Nose Shape is a popular choice. An attractive nose, the snub nose is found in approximately 4.7% of the surveyed population. The nose is small and slopes upward at the tip, causing the nostrils to be visible. Noses of this shape are usually smaller and tend to turn up. The tip of the nose is neither round nor flat. With its slightly upturned tip, it gives the impression of a snobbish person. An example of a celebrity who exhibits this type of nose is Carrie Mulligan (see associated picture). Elizabeth Taylor also exhibited a snub nose.

I guess what is attractive and what isn't is just a matter of personal opinion. (shrug)

Lol! I agree with katharsis, hilarious.

I must have been a teen the first (and only?) time I watched it.

I was laughing out loud at this:

Spoiler
As I mentioned above, the film gave our culture the immortal line, “Love means never having to say you’re sorry.” Nothing could be further from the truth. I love my wife -- a lot -- and therefore I find myself saying, “I’m sorry” on a daily basis. Once every few years, she even says it to me.

I remember thinking that that line was stupid. Like, what kind of love is that??
