Oh, she will continue to use drugs. Is Oprah getting a cut from the book? I think this lady is mad at her family and or her father. Maybe she was cut out of the will? I'm not sure she is a victim. It will be interesting to hear what her sister has to say. I'm trying to keep an open mind about this but logically the pieces just don't add up. Something happened to her in her youth. That much I know but a relationship with her father, come on. Oprah should be embarrassed for putting this out.
I question the veracity of her claims. Not only does it seem pretty self-serving to go on Oprah and "reveal" these things right before her book comes up for sale, but as far as I've seen she is not donating any of the proceeds to charity (which could lend validity to her claims), her father is dead and cannot defend himself, and Mackenzie spent most of her life sticking a needle in her veins. Who is to say she didn't hallucinate the whole thing?

This was/is a freakin celebrity who had plenty of opportunities to do something great with her life but chose to **** everything away with drugs. She said one thing yesterday on one of the approximately 400 "news" shows that interviewed her that I thought was telling...something to the effect of "I hate this for my family, it being so public and all."
Yeah, why is it "so public and all"? It didn't have to be. It helps sell books. Funny it didn't come out when she was doing all her other soul-baring interviews about her drug use some years ago, when, (surprise, surprise!) she had another book coming out. And, now that her father is dead and not around to either answer for it or deny it...easy to make accusations.
File it all under "More Crap I'd Rather Not Know About".

Her book looks thick and I will have to do a look/see perferably without paying for it. I was a teen at the same time as her and Valerie so it may be an interesting read. I don't get her but I can't hate her.
She didn't just say he molested her as a child because that is now old hat. Boring. The envelope must be pushed. This is gold for Oprah's new season ratings. And all the other shows she will appear on. And she will appear on Celebrity Rehab on VH1 as some sort of sober counselor! Spread the $$$$ cash around. She is doing a typical book publicity tour, just like other celebs now who are pushing their books. There is no difference. It would be interesting to know who is behind her writing this book. Who are her enablers.
This is not to say exactly what she said didn't happen. It is gross to make money for all these people off of it. It diminishes the horror of it. She could have shared her pain with one or more professional conselors, spiritual advisors, her sponsor, etc. To do what she is doing is not necessary for releasing her demons - it is the least healthy way of going about it.
Please DO NOT buy that book. It says the public approves and paves the way for more of this trash.
