I thought Elin had left days ago for Sweden, why would she need to be escorted out anyway?, it's her house too (I think). Also was under the impression Tiger was going out w/ his 'boys' on his yacht around Christmas - had the definite impression their spouses and children weren't included as their wives were not happy at all which is understandable. What I read might not be that accurate though. Havent heard anything about him getting any treatment anywhere, last I heard he wasnt interested (hopefully am wrong). Couldnt find any websites to verify anything though . Hopefully he's re-thinking his situation although it's prob. way too late to save his marriage .
Now that would be Must Watch TV! Can you see it - his mother; Elin; Charles Barkley; His caddy and Jeff VonW says
"Tiger - we have some people here you love you like crazy and are afraid theyre losing you. . . . "
Dear Tiger,
I used to love watching you play golf. You made it look so smooth, so effortless, so natural. But since you've been seeing all these women...and maybe abusing prescription drugs...you are no longer the same Tiger. [sniffles] Your children need a father...your wife needs a husband...your sponsors need a spokesperson...but, since you've been doing these harmful things...none of that is happening anymore. [sobbing] If you continue to do these harmful things, I will no longer welcome you on the golf course, nor purchase the products you represent.
[sniffles]
Will you please take this offer to get help??? [one last SOB]
I think, at least for us, the word hate is too strong in his case. Major disappointment-definitely as he put himself out there as someone he was not. His life is crumbling around him-just very sad.
Not that I defend his actions (I'm not), but could you explain to me exactly how he 'put himself out there as someone he was not'? By doing Gatorade and Nike commercials? He is a professional golfer. That's all he put himself out there to be. I never saw him advertise himself as 'the family man' or 'worlds perfect husband' or anything like that.
My point is why is he any different from anyone else that has ever committed adultery? Why is it that because he was a 'celebrity' that it's automatically assumed he's living the 'perfect' life?
That is ridiculous - or perhaps I'm not seeing the forest for the trees. Why would she need such a large group of escorts to see her out?
Who's paying for that? Elin and Tiger or the taxpayers of Florida?
I'm guessing that it's somewhat standard for the police to offer such services to high profile people that may request it, especially with all the reporters and paparazzi trying their best to follow them around. I doubt Elin or the police were concerned about Tiger (he's reportedly already left for the Bahamas), or from anyone with Tiger's team, but most likely the police (or Elin) wanted to prevent any traffic problems for neighbors from the paparazzi.
I think Tiger and Elin have paid enough city and county property taxes and local sales taxes to request a little service from the local police.

Well, maybe it was a little over-the-top! I had heard it was two police cars and eight police motorcycles. Now I'm learning there were also two police choppers overhead. I see that one website says there was a 10 vehicle police motorcade with the picture (shown below) that reportedly escorted Elin and the children. It looks like the choppers overhead may have caused a crowd to gather...

I was kind of wondering what you meant by "...a little service."
After previously working for a City, and seeing the officers' salaries paid out of the state's General Fund, it adds up to more than just "a little service."
I wonder who determines the amount of police officers necessary to protect certain types of people?
