Anyone else thinks she just doesn't have it anymore?
When her first single off the new album came out, the first thing I thought was she sounds rough. Not at all like the siren songstress she used to be. Her other singles just don't do it for me. There's just no magic or star power in any of it. I think that crack truly messed up her voice.

I was shocked when I first heard her sing as well. She has done some damage that is true. I don't begrudge her wanting to still perform, but she cannot carry off the songs that she once sang. I have not heard her new release, but I would hope that she has changed her style to reflect that she cannot sing like she used to.
I love Whitney but she isn't the same--the crack, Bobby Brown, the depression all took its toll on her. She will always be considered a legend. Maybe she can just be a stay at home mom and help Bobbi Christina not go down the path she once went down.
I always wonder why there are so many really talented celebrities who seem determined to sabotage their own lives over and over until there just isn't any sparkle left.

And I wonder why so many of their fans remain obsessed for so many years after their illegal actions become common knowledge.
Out of all the men she could've had, she selected a loser that is Bobby Brown. When this happened, I knew that she was headed for a decline. He didn't appear to be a man of integrity and depth, certainly not someone who could benefit the career of a woman with a voice like Whitney Houston, or be a positive element in her or any woman's life.
I applaud her for getting rid of him and attempting to recapture the "magic", but times have changed and so have the musical tastes of the age group she used to focus on.
Not sure how she is to cope with not having such fame anymore and her diminished ability to perform, but I hope she can hold it together and find another vehicle for self-fulfillment. Father Time takes its toll on us all.
Geez how harsh...... Brutal...but you made me chuckle
But sadly, it could be the truth.
