My GF and I are planning a vacation in Charleston from 10/24 - 10/28. We are looking for recommendations on which resorts offer a romantic getaway. I called ResortQuest and they have recommended Seabrook or Kiawah. Our budget for four nights of commendations is between $800 to $1100.

Any other suggestions for the area would be greatly appreciated.

Michael

Both are beautiful. Wild Dunes is another nice option.

What about a bed and breakfast? There are some really romantic ones in town. Two Meeting Street Inn is the first one that comes to mind. There are many more.
As far as resorts, The Sanctuary on Kiawah is very chichi.

Thanks for all your input. I will research all the suggestions. Any tips for good restaurants? I am interested in casual to romantic dining options.

Thanks for all your help.

Wow, Charleston has a seemingly endless supply of good restaurants. My wife and I really like Fulton Five and go there for each other's birthday. If the weather is nice, the outdoor seating is beautiful. Anson is another good option. If you end up at Wild Dunes, the Boathouse on the Isle of Palms has good food and outdoor seating that looks over the water. This is good and a little more casual than the others I mentioned. That would also be a long trip from Kiawah. Carolina's is a good option along with Cypress, Oak, Grill 225 and the Peninsula Grill. Others may have other suggestions, but I would think you couldn't go wrong with any of these as a romantic restaurant.

All of Rggr's restaurant suggestions are spot on. A couple of my favorites that he didn't mention are Hank's (seafood), Il Cortile del Re (Italian), and Slightly North of Broad (regional). All three are downtown.

I would also suggest Bocci's (Italian), AW Shucks (great seafood), Magnolia's and Blossom (both American w/Mediterannean accents) all of which are downtown restaurants. High Cotton is another great DT place. On Kiawah, the Sanctuary's restaurants have plenty of variety, and they are excellent, from what I hear. Check out this link on the hotel's website: Kiawah Island, SC - Dining at Kiawah Island Golf Resort near Charleston, South Carolina
