It's looking like we are very close to moving there! (Probably within a month). We will have to rent for a while and I am just curious about what y'all think about where is good and what's not?
1. Job (If confirmed) will be in North Charleston (Leeds Rd Area) 12 hour shifts
2. We have 2 dogs (So probably not apartments, maybe town-homes)
3. We have a limited budget (Preferably under $900/month)
4. Young people around (we are in our 20's)
Any ideas... I have been told to stay away from most of North Charleston, is this true?
Some people will restrict certain breads on their property or by size so make sure you check with the leasing agent to make sure that you will not run into any problems there...

Yeah one is a golden retriever mix and the other is a cocker spaniel mix.
We moved here last November and rented in Summerville from last November through May of this year (our house out of state still had not sold). Hubby also had to begin new job here in N. Charleston. (We've since purchased a home in Summerville.) I will tell you that the dogs *will* be an issue...not the fact that you have them, but their size. We found that lots of rental properties won't allow dogs of that size. The ones that do allow dogs have a size restriction. Good luck.
Oh...BTW...my husband commutes from the Ashley River Road area in Summerville to his job in N. Charleston, and it takes him less than 30 minutes, depending on various elements. Your commute from anywhere will be influenced by the time of day, the weather, and the number of accidents...
