I may be moving to Mt. Pleasant and have a 3 year old that has speech delays and some sensory issues. She has an iep and is in a public school program (free) here in NJ.
Does Mount Pleasant have this kind of program in their public schools for pre-k students? Or any private preschools with speech therapy options? My search online isn't turing up anything.

We have lived in the area before we just didn't have kids then

Thanks!

I'm not sure but I would go ahead and contact the school district and/or the elementary school you will be attending to find out. My own daughter had an IEP And speech issues when she was young due to some profound hearing loss. She was able to go to the school for special speech classes even before she was technically regular school age.

Bring copies of the IEP or have it faxed to the school you will be zoned for. I think you'll have to register at the school and you should be able to get all of your IEP services taken care of there. You'll be able to talk with their SLP and set up a time for you to come in and get seen. Depending on what's in your IEP and what specific services your child needs they may need to send you to a different school near by but you shouldn't have many issues at all. They will want to have transfer meeting etc. and I would have any/all evaluation results/reports with you at the time. Since different states have different wording and classifications of disabilities they will want to see it all to get you placed correctly. I do work in the schools but I'm pretty new so I don't know if I can really tell you more.
