Can you choose your electric company or do you have to take what's in your area?

It's a monopoly.

You may live outside and SCE&G area, but you still only have that one choice...or it's been that way in every area I've checked.

Is that electric co primarily Charleston area or does it go as far as N. Charleston, Goose Creek, and Summerville?

Is Berkeley more reasonable rates?

When I switched from SCEG to Berkley (because of a move) I was quite happy with the decrease in cost. Our new house is about 400 square feet larger too.

SCE&G covers a good portion of the state, with smaller co-ops stuck in here and there, Berkeley County has one Co-op that serves most of Berkeley county
