Speaking of James Island and restaurants, does anyone know why the Boulevard closed their JI location?

Yes, being out at Shem Creek in Mt P can be laid back, but I think JI is just more laid back overall. JI just feels more like a near-beach town than Mt P.

Note: I live in Mt P & love it.

And the statement that "JI ... has quicker access to downtown CHS" is really stretching it. From my home in Molasses Creek, I've walked to Saffron Bakery in "downtown Charleston." The Ravenel Bridge is a delight to walk across -- not so with the JI connector. I just think the distance is not an issue without specifying where in each town.
Oh really? Let me know when you want to challenge me on this...lol

I think all of the above are pretty much right on, it's just that Mt. Pleasant has been pegged a yuppie town. And maybe because of that title, everything over there cost more. 'Everything'

Ok. See I would be anti mt pleasant just from what you're all saying. I'm a beach bum.. Born and raised. And I am completely opposite of what you're describing mt P as. I could say I wouldn't like it there with that vibe. I know it's beautiful, but I love beach town feel. What a decision. Of course going down and checking it out would be best. Can't wait for that!

OH JK83!
We all know that Madras is a region of the country of India ... and that those shorts (and other garments of that material) are also known as "bleeding plaid." Um... I guess you'd have to be at least 50 ... 55 ... 58 ... 60 ... years old to know this.

If you think of those dumb ass shorts golfers wear, you'll be close enough.. Lol

Truth be told, if you fell in love with Mt P you could wear your flip flops and cutoffs there too,
There's just something wonderful and low key cool bout the Folly area (for me)
