just making sure you avoided the "crowd-pleasers": chicken parm, lasagna, etc.

i'm usually a sucker for their bolognese. huh. surprised to hear it was that bad.

Wouldn't they be properly referred to as Northern vs. Southern style Italian?

I bring it up because I prefer the Southern Italian dishes (red sauce, chicken parm, etc.) because I was raised in a family that originally came from Southern Italy and it always bothers me when people look down upon me for what I order!

Today my family and I ate at Baroni's of West Ashley. Enjoyed the Pizza very good, priced well. Not sure if the lady behind the counter is the owner or related but treated us fantastic. We will be returning in the near future.

There's no part of Italy that overcooks pasta.

And if a restaurant has something on the menu and it's not up to par -- I don't care if something else is amazing. Good food should be good food all round

A couple of folks have recommended Trattoria Lucca to us ... but then again several people told us Wild Olive was good so now I'm somewhat apprehensive.

Anyone have any experience eating there?

My husband has been to Trattoria. He enjoyed his meal.

We go to Coda Del Pesce on Isle of Palm and we love it. Same restaurant group.
