My one and only experience at Mustard Seed in MtP was a spinach salad with scallops; there was so much grit and sand in the dish from the scallops I couldn't eat it. Sorta kinda turned me off from going back, though I don't doubt they have good food.

We tried The Mustard Seed twice -- it was absolutely AWFUL. Never ever went back. Most of it barely edible. One dish just was garlic -- can't remember if it had pasta in it because it was just garlic. Veggies so overcooked on another visit and again a really heavy handed seasoning. Rookie chef mistakes. I see that consistency seems to be a thing. But why throw the dice when so many amazing places to dine.

We don't eat out often. When we do...we go to places we are guaranteed a certain level of service and food. Food snob - maybe. But that's what we like. We all have our own.

Maybe if I ate out one night a week, it would be okay to just go to okay restaurants. But once every 4 to six weeks...no way -- I'm making sure it is a solid choice.

Went back to the obstinate daughter last night. A dozen oysters, flatbread, and the shrimp roll. It was delicious.

It's just a good restaurant with simple well prepared dishes and a very nice atmosphere. Which is surprizing cause wild olive (owned by the same people) is just about the worst Italian restaurant we have ever been to.

We love Obstinate Daughter...and yes it isn't complicated -- but something amazing about their food/cocktails. We have sat at the bar and have had a really good time with the staff, meeting people sitting at the bar. I love it.

Maybe I'll go tonight for a cocktail and some oysters....hmmmmm.

Whaaa? Wild Olive has been great the two times I have been. We went to Obstinate Daughter thursday night and it was amazing. The oysters were good, and the Parpadelle and homeade italian sausage was awesome. So was the Creme Brulee for dessert. That, 3 solid craft beers, and work picking up the tab is a great dinner.

Are there any other restaurants in the Mustard Seed price range with a similarly very eclectic menu ? I just love that place but now it's 30 minutes away.

That was the thing I loved about Mustard Seed, its eclectic menu. Not the same old boring menu.

King Street Grill in MtP. Horrible. Used to really love going there but it's been heading down hill and this trip will be our last. Spent all night on the can after eating there. Had to send their Charleston chicken back (both my wife and I) because it just didn't taste right.
