Looks like a decision the locals will come to regret in the next 10-15 years. I see it either never being built due to too much development or being built as a tollway due to cost at this point. Amazing that some southern cities still haven't learned from Atlanta.
Wrong. If the mayor and local government, both city and county, doesn't support 526, it won't move forward, regardless of finances. This does makes it an issue selecting the mayor.
Both candidates support it, so there's nothing to differentiate them on this issue. My point is it's out of their hands to decide. Those of us who live here are at the mercy of the state legislators now.

T-burg claims to support 526. He's pandering for votes. He if wins, Charleston will lose.
So why would he support 526 but not Sgt Jasper? That makes literally no sense to me.
I don't know much about the city's politics or players, but this whole Sgt Jasper thing is one thing that has been stuck in my mind from his commercial. As an ignorant outsider going on basic instinct, it all just doesn't fit together.

I can vote, and will today. It's better if everybody knows the facts. Like Zuman says, T-burg was on the board at the Coastal Conservation League. He does not support 526 or anything else ! If he wins Charleston loses!
