I remember that rap they did. It was annoying. lol

I had no idea WTMA had a memories site. Good info on there! When I was a kid back in the 70's I used to listen to WTMA when they played top 40 music. This was before FM.

I lived right around the corner from WTMA's manager John Trenton back then... and still walk around doing the Wolfman Jack voice thing, the kids just look at me like I'm crazy.... lol

I've got some old pics laying around here somewhere... even of the old Charleston Inn that used to be on the right side of the marsh as you came over the Ashley River into downtown, or into Charleston as we said back then...

The Post and Courier has some of their archives up online. They have some up from the 1940s and 1950s, and from 1975-1977.

I read some of their papers online, and the sports were like 2 or 3 pages on a weekday.

Here is a link from Google News:

Frank & Stein? That was the hot dog place that was in there forever. I loved going there to eat their hot dogs and their great sweet tea.

I found two funny videos of West Ashley from 1986. This shows a car club, the AZA, traveling around doing different things.

Later on, it shows gas at the Northbridge Terrace Exxon at 67 cents/gallon , along with the unrenovated K-Mart on Savannah Hwy.
