though I'm at the other end of SC, thought I'd add my $ .02. This is exactly why Chick-Fil-A is probably the only fast food I eat. Their Owners/Franchisees take care of their employees and customers. 2 different CFA near me have done this in the last 2 months and those are the 2 stores I frequent now. IMHO you'd think more fast food restaurants would be doing this with the economy the way it is...

Its all about Customer Service.

Did you know that a restaurant can not have a menu item that uses the term "Chick Fillet" for a chicken sandwich? If they do, they should not be surprised when the legal offices for the corporate giant Chick-Fil-A contacts them and threatens legal action because of their use of the word "Chick Fillet". No, the two words are not spelled the same (chick fillet vs. Chick-Fil-A)...but they sound the same. Evidently the corporate giant Chick-Fil-A owns the phonetic pronunciation of their company name. The corporate giant Chick-Fil-A has a bulldog of a legal department and they will send certified letter after certified letter threatening legal repercussions. They are not nice at all. So much for the "model" of corporate America.

Sorry for the rant...but I have no respect for CFA and the way this aspect of their business is handled. Most folks just see the surface and how they position themselves as a nice, nice company. CFA is a wolf in sheep's clothing. They are the same as any other bulldog corporation who is only in buisness for $$$.

Ok...rant over.

What else have they done that is so 'ruthless'...not open on Sundays, support community groups.

For me -- free food day at a fast food chain means -- stay away day.

That's right...they are Christian-based and close on Sundays to honor the Sabbath and so their employees can go to church and spend time with their families. They are also involved in the schools, sponsoring a Character Traits programs....we have a "Trait" each month for the kids to focus on, then they earn free meal coupons for exhibiting those traits on a regular basis. The program has really made our students conscientious of their actions and how they affect others - encouraging positive behavior.
They also hire the handicapped and elderly, making them productive members of the community. My step-mom is 78 and LOVES her job as a Chick-Fil-A hostess, where she just greets people with a smile and offers them refills on their drinks....and they give her time off anytime she and my dad go off on trips. They are VERY good to her and she loves working there!

I don't like fast food at all, but do go there once in a while when my grandson is visiting.

My daughter works at CFA and they treat her great! She lets them know when she will be in town from college and they put her on the schedule.
