Hopefully, it will be wonderful for them and not be the beginning of a downward spiral into debt, drugs and divorce.

Indeed. Here is an interesting story about that I saw a few weeks ago.

A binman is British slang for garbage collector.

I cannot conceive of any circumstances that would cause me to blow $millions in just a few years. Yes, I'd do some crazy things, and probably spend some money in ways I'd consider foolish later when I got past being suddenly wealthy. OTOH, I won't be the guy with his lottery money in the bank while living in a shack and working for minimum wage.

But I'm just too practical and careful to go through millions, that quickly if ever. I don't need a jet, or multiple homes, or gold plated everything. I have no use for a mansion.

I just don't get it.

Many people who win the lottery just aren't mature when it comes to money matters. If they were, they wouldn't be blowing so much money on the lottery to begin with.

One sorry son of a gun I read about lost all his money in an investment deal. He signed a very bad contract and his partner basically got all the money.

That irony is probably a great explanation.

If you have bad spending habits with little money they do not get better with more money. Just more to blow. That's my thoughts.
