Hello Board. I was wondering if anyone has any recommendations for a good (read: cheap) tire store in Charlotte? I live uptown so am pretty central to anywhere, basically.

Back home we have a place that will do a buy 3 tires get 1 free, or free mounting/balancing etc called tirediscounters. I'm hoping to find something similar to that. Great prices, and possible freebies. My car lease is up in one year so I really want to avoid spending more money than neccesary.

Thanks in advance!

A place like PepBoys will probably have a similar deal.

I've heard great things about Punchy Whitaker's. It's on 29 in Concord.

I've bought from TireRack.com and they have really good deals. The only thing is that you have to take them to get put on and pay 'extra'. I believe they can ship your tires to a certain store so you don't have to carry them around.

I also used Tire Kingdom a few months ago. I shopped around a few places and they all had pretty much the same prices, but Tire Kingdom has a $40 off coupon on their website if you buy 4 tires.

And finally, check out Sam's Club...I have gotten really good deals there too.

I used Tire Rack to find what tires to buys for my car and then called Discount Tires in Denver and they price matched Tire Rack. It was a very good experience.

Default Tires

I'd reach out to Carolina Tire & Auto Repair if I were you. They are in South Charlotte. I got the same price quote from them as Discount Tire and they gave me a $50 voucher for auto service, a bottle of Mona Vie active and to boot I used my AMEX card and will get another $25 bucks back from them AMRX they are a small business. I dare you to beat that. Besides I met the owner, nice people, clean and professional and locally owned. I hate the big chains, I prefer to support small business. Too many going under in America.

Discount Tire on South Blvd is my favorite place to buy tires since they have so many stores throuhout the country. Once you buy in one location you are good for free flat repair and rotation anywhere in the county.

Prices and service are always great!

I use to like Discount Tire but haven't had great experiences there recently and probably will be going somewhere else next time. I've bought off Tire Rack before and that was good except for having to pay more to get them mounted/balanced/disposal/etc.. I've heard good things about Tire Kingdom too.
