Sagging pants, wearing pj's in public, caps backwards and sideways is a sign of today's society. It is laziness, disrespect and ignorance all rolled in to one.

You are right GCharlotte, the pants are getting lower, they can't even walk for having the pants hanging so low and trying to hold them up.

Slippers or bedroom shoes in public is another sing of extreme laziness.

I have always worn my pants/shorts a few inches below the waistline with my boxers poofing out but I don't let it show when im out in public. I remember sagging pants being a big trend back in grade school back in the early 90's.

I took these pics of a friend of mine back in 2001

Remember the hat backwards well he wore his caty corner
Did you ever ask him why he didn't wear his clothing in the manner intended by their design?

I don't know the cutoff length of time, but for something to be trendy, it must be temporary by definition. In fashion time, ten years is a very long time. 'Course, a fashion "trend" generally requires one to buy new clothing, to be "fashionable". Anyone can wear their old pants under their butt.

Why do you do that?

I don't know, it just feels comfortable. I feel more relaxed this way.

ChromeKitty.......You are so right....I saw two "sagging diapers" the other day at Walmarts. If they had needed to get out of the store quickly because of a fire threat..or whatever....they would have been left "behind" by the stampede of customers going out!!
Ignorance would be the first on my list for these "in crowd" wannabees!! I would just love to fast forward on these diaper wearers....and see where they will be in fifteen years....probably just where they are today....no where!!

It's less comfortable and relaxing to wear your pants in the accepted manner, which is to cover your underwear?

I never asked as I do not have issue with it nor consider it lazy but a way an individual feels to express themselve like mohawks or tattoo or eye brow piercings. So I dont think its a trend but a way to express themselves and probably why it lasted over a decade and will be around with teens of next decade.

I never thought hat backwards bad either but made a guy more youthful.(sometimes lol)
I would do it but the bill of hat is in way when I sit in a car or theater to much work so I wear them forward.
