It's probably been that long since I've been. Every time I pick up take out at Best Wok (last night for instance) I think "I really need to get back there for sushi".

I need to use my Fujimi Groupon before it expires.

I recommend Mai, its at the corner of Colony and Rea. So far it is the best sushi I've had around here. New Zealand Cafe is a close second. The quality at Sushiya seems to have went downhill more recently and I dont go there as often.

Still haven't had a chance to try Fujimi but I'll get there. Ru San's is what it is. Not very authentic but affordable and fun. Koishi has a hot and sour seafood soup that I crave so we'll go for that and a few rolls. I also like Ginbu 401 in Myers Park. But, as I said in an earlier post, the best sushi I've ever had, in Charlotte or anywhere else, is Mai. Hands down.

There's a new place Uptown called Emzy Sushi Bar & Asian Kitchen. Not sure about their straight up sushi, but their maki was very good and fresh when I tried it. Their curries also got rave reviews from my coworkers.

Masashis (sp) in the Pineville area. My wife and daughter are Japanese food snobs. My daughter is a graduate from Johnson & Wales Culinary and says the restaurant is far superior to any Japanese restaurant in the area. It should be in the Yellow Pages on line or Google and you should find it. It's a small place that has been there for over ten years. I'm a meat and potatoes kind of guy, but enjoy their Bento boxes. I take a pass on the eel and other sushi, thank you.
