If a local group held a job fair that was marketed for the "traditional white worker" would that be racist? I'm not saying this is a bad thing for this group to hold, they can do it all they want. I just find it amusingly ironic.
Is it racist for Jewish people to have newspapers that cater to them? Plenty of backgrounds have info and programs that cater to their people.
It's not ironic at all. While people may call themselves white there are plenty who are proud of their roots and identify themselves as such. German, French, Polish etc...

Oh...I see. So, an ethnic-specific newspaper is equal to ethnic-specific job opportunity? You put a lot of thought into that, didn't you?
Why are so many taking this as being racist. This is just one way of reaching out to people of color. Anyone who wants to attend, can attend. It is a way of putting teachers of color into classrooms,. most likely to fulfill a quota. It does not mean that people of color are getting the edge up. I can turn this into a storybook, but won't. If you feel unrepresented, sign up for Teach for America or just apply to the school with openings.
^ ^ ^ I think it is a good move and simply trying to reach out to folks to let them know the profession is welcoming to everyone.
Nemnet is a minority recruiting firm. They do specialize in the recruitment of "people of color". It is a racially motivated organization.
Yes but regardless of race, they can't place folks who don't have the qualifications for the jobs . . . so it only makes sense for them to try to get people to participate through their organization - so their organization remains viable. They are essentially just trying to encourage people with the right qualifications to get their resumes in, wh/ is their mission - matching up folks in jobs they are qualified to perform.

Lumping (or confusing) race with religion was brilliant as well.

I am not sure if it would be considered racism, but it would be considered discrimination.
and 99% have Bachelors or higher.
You don't have to "of color" to be a minority!
Surely it makes perfect sense to have teachers from minorities when there are children from minorities?
I would imagine if it was easy for schools to recruit staff from minorities and easy for those from minorities to secure employment then the associaltion wouldn't exist.
