Hi, I am Interested in moving from NJ to Charlotte NC.. I'm 27 years old and have 4 year old child.. I would like to know the best places to live that are safe, friendly and have great schools and that are also close to a hospital..because I plan on working in a Hospital. Any info would be greatly appreciated. Thank u
will you be renting or buying? What is your price range? Do you have a job lined up? Depending on where you work will most likely decide where you want to live. More info from you will allow us to better help you. Also, why leave NJ??

Mooresville -Lake Norman Regional Medical center is in Mooresville, Iredell memorial hospital in Statesville, Presbyterian hospital Huntersville.
One advantage over Huntersville is lower taxes as Iredell (rather than Mecklenburg) county taxes and you can be very close to all the facilities and not pay city taxes in Mooresville.
You could also commute to Concord for Carolinas NE medical center, or indeed live in Concord for Cabarrus county schools and taxes.
Both places have a wide range of property sizes, types, ages and prices.
I have mentioned Lake Norman regional medical center basically because it's there! I am not sure I would want to work there (as a RN) and wouldn't go to ER there unless I was going to die before I got to another hospital (then I probably wouldn't have much say in the matter, although the EMTs are pretty much clued up about LNRMC.)
Despite the fact that Novant (who own Presbyterian hospital in Huntersville and Charlotte) own 30% of LNRMC it's a for profit entity, whereas the rest I've mentioned are not-for profit.
If you wanted to live closer to Charlotte then Carolinas Healthcare System has Mercy and Carolinas Medical center in uptown and there's Presbyterian hospital there too.
Carolinas have several other hospitals in the area too,inc Northeast in Concord.
I say this tongue-in-cheek so please don't flame me....but how many reasons does one need to leave NJ? I can think of about 20 off the top of my head!
Having grown up in New Jersey I can give you hundreds of reasons to stay. I'm here because of the weather.....don't get me wrong, I love it here. But I didn't leave New Jersey because I hated it. Unfortunately most people only see Newark, Trenton, or Atlantic City when they think of New Jersey. The rest of the state is beautiful. There's a reason they call it the Garden State!
Please have your job in hand before you come. Things are improving, but, not great. The job market has not recovered fully yet and it may be a rude awakening if you don't have employment lined up beforehand.
Other than the weather and cost to live there I wouldn't have left NJ but to answer the OPs question....well, not sure how to answer. Sounds like u should gather a list of hospitals, narrow down ur choices based on ur research of said hospitals, then maybe we can comment on the remaining areas. maybe? I dunno.
Where are you coming from in NJ is a relevant question. And also what kind of hospital work do you anticipate doing? If you live in an urban area then you might be comfortable living "Uptown" and working at CMC. I visited Levine Childrens Hospital once, and was really overwhelmed with how wonderful it was. You never want your child to be sick, but if your kid needs a hospital this is the place to be. If you live in the far burbs then you might be more comfortable in Mooresville, Cornelius or Huntersville. Why leave NJ, indeed!
