I am interested in learning about the best neighborhoods in South Charlotte for young families that would be convenient to St Mathews. We have a 6, 4, and 2 year old and live in a great neighborhood, Bedford, for kids and families in Raleigh. It has great parks, sidewalks, a neighborhood pool and tons of activities. It made it so easy to meet people. I want the same situation in Charlotte. Our housing range is 400 to 600. But for us location is everything. Thanks

St Mathews? Do you mean the town of Matthews on the east side of town?

You will have a lot of choices over that way. There are nice neighborhoods in Union County, Ballantyne as well as Matthews. Look for Myers Park, Providence High, Ardrey Kell in the CMS school district.

I am thinking maybe she means the parish of St. Matthews Catholic Church.

St. Matthew Catholic Church, Charlotte, NC

Check out the Ballantyne area. You might like Union County, too.

Hi Laura
I'm in a similar situation. My family and I will be relocating this summer. I want to be close to St. Matthews school too. Have you driven around the area yet? There are some lovely developments down rea rd. we are also looking into Brookhaven in Matthews.
Good luck with your search!

It's Saint Matthews with two "T's". You should have absolutely no problem finding what you're looking for in that price range. St. Matt's zip is 28277. Or, as others have suggested, go a little further south into Union County. Check out Hunter Oaks in Waxhaw. I have a friend who lives there. Her kids are in middle school now at Holy Trinity but went to St. Matt's and loved it. Just curious, what about St. Matt's appeals to you?

Hi Laura
My youngest is currently in first grade. He will be attending St. Matthew's. We have looked into the other Catholic schools: Charlotte Catholic High School and Holy Trinity Middle. Very impressed with the schools, curriculum, programs, etc. Will your children be attending this year?
We love the areas near Rea Rd. Marvin Creek would be our first choice...but a bit pricey compared to other communities. Also like Chimneys at Marvin, Hunter Oaks, Brookhaven. We will be in NC again to look around with our realtor. She has been wonderful! please let me know if you need her info. The right realtor makes all the difference.

Could you also let us know in what part of the city you and/or your spouse will be working?

I'd suggest Marvin Creek, Somerset, Hunter Oaks, Audrey, and Bridge Hampton.
