I will never understand someone who robs folks (or businesses) for a living. I have not known of one crime in this city since I moved here that was committed by someone literally starving and no way to get their next meal. People say folks turn to crime when they are out of money and can't feed their kids, but to be honest - I have never known of someone who committed a violent crime b/c they couldn't feed their kids.
I worked in a maximum security institution for ten years. During that time I rubbed elbows with hundreds of armed robbers. I can only think of two that were not physically capable of a hard days work. The two exceptions were 100% fit physically when they did their crime. One got shot by a cop and the bullet tore his foot off and the other perp took a round right in the knee. The really sad thing is the taxpayers footed the bill for many thousands of dollars in medical expenses for these two.

You know what they say-

The Cops are only minutes away when you have seconds to live.

Most likely true UNTIL someone points a gun at them!

Back to the OP, I was surprised to learn of this second restaurant murder as well. I wonder if it did receive coverage when it happened? I heard about it on the news last night.

I wonder why folks target restaurants - I can't imagine they would ever have that much cash on hand. Don't the majority of folks use credit cards when eating out?

Now, for fast food, I would think they have cash . . . but restaurants?
I wonder if there would be any drop in crime if cash was completely done away with and everything was either debit/credit. Probably theft of property would just increase.
