I am moving to charlotte from Atlanta. Since I am buying a house I would like to have as much info as possible to make sure I am in a safe place with my children. I have three children, 15,4, and 5 months old. My 15 year old will be in public school and 4 year old will be in private school. My job is downtown but I mostly work from home. The areas that I have looked at are [Highland Creek; Prosperity Church Road; Brown Road; Steele Creek; Mallard Creek-Withrow downs] The houses in Charlotte all look very nice, but I am a Miami Fl native and I know that nice houses don't always mean nice neighborhoods/areas. Could you guys please give me some info on the neighborhoods that I have listed and if you know of any other ones could you please list them for me. Thanks!

South Charlotte, Ballantyne, certain areas of Matthews and Union County are very nice. I've lived in Ballantyn for nearly ten years and we've never had any problems. PM me if you'd like more info.

Thank you. I was looking on another thread and saw very good things about Ballantyne.

I love the Huntersville/Cornelius/Davidson area myself...that is If you don't have to hit rush hour traffic.
