Fed up with high prices and quality of life in New York City, looking to move to Charlotte area as soon as my wife finds a job in her field. She holds Master's in Economy and MBA in Finance.
Can anyone tell me what areas within 15 miles radius from Charlotte are nice, safe with affordable rents and easy commute?
You should understand that 15 miles covers the majority of Charlotte. What are you looking for in a neighborhood? Square feet? Budget? Affordable can mean many things.

15 miles from city lines, bet. 1 bedroom 700-800 sq. ft. for not more thn $1000
You can live almost anywhere in Charlotte with a $1000 budget looking for a 1-bedroom apartment. Where work will be and what you want in the area will help narrow down a place. Right now we dont have much to work with to assist you in a search. Or we could just list almost every are of town.

I think we are going to be stuck until the wife finds work. There are corporations all over Charlotte. If she finds a position on the south side that will rule out Cornelius or Huntersville, and vice versa. I am not trying to be difficult, but we are missing a major piece of the puzzle here. I'd recommend you come spend a weekend here and get a feel for the sifferent areas of Charlotte.
