Keep in mind that Romney's speech was held in a similar sized arena as TWC.
Oh, and if the Democrats really did have trouble getting people to attend this, the Republicans had the same problem in Charlotte as well, where they couldn't even find enough people to hold an event at the Bojangles Coliseum - http://www.wcnc.com/news/politics/Ro...167992676.html
(In the interest of full disclosure I will not be voting for Obama but all this conspiracy crap is ridiculous.)
There is no conspiracy Go read the archives. There have been new outlets predicting this for a week.
Testy it was sunny on Monday at 12pm... it was storming like crazy at 6pm.
As far as bussing is concerned... it seems foolish to have 80 people drive up individually when you can take one vehicle and save on gas and parking. Not sure why people are making a conspiracy out of something that makes sense to the average individual.
. and requesting donations? Who doesn't to that in politics?
Exactly the UK had this 2 days ago that it was going to happen. The sheep won't believe it. The truth is Obama has been struggling all year. Fundraising is down. If you dig you can find stories of half filled fundraisers for months now. Its nothing new. The bloom is off the rose.
Yeah, but there are sheep (lots and lots of 'em) in the UK too.
The Daily Mail is not the best newspaper to read if you want straight news. They, like most newspapers - especially tabloids - have their own special spin on facts. It is called SELL MORE PAPERS. They too have their own special readership.
US politics in the UK is always news and since most UK residents do not understand the US political scene or even the system, the tabloids can print almost anything to fill up column inches.
Excitement? Enthusiasm? The Democrats have much more on their side. The republicans pretty clearly don't even like the guy the nominated!
I saw more excitement last night then all the nights of the RNC combined. As far as nationally, why would the Dems be as excited as 2008? That was history in the making.
Quick question... is the 35K the max capacity at TW? Does this include floor seating?

I thought it was considerably less capacity than 35K. Of course, I am goofy about this stuff and haven't looked it up . . . but I thought it was around 20 K.
ETA: I would think with the floor space being taken up by a stage . . . and special seating arrangements . . . it could be less than the usual capacity. So if it is around 20K I would think the actual capacity for this type of stage arrangement and seating would be less than 20K.

But they called it correctly. I remember reading this earlier in the week. I give them credit for not being simple parrots like the vast majority of media in the USA.
Honestly, what does it matter if this was planned all along or not.
As a person who has been involved in planning large conventions/events . . . you always have several contingency plans for various scenarios.
And what you tell the public is whatever works best for the situation that has arisen. So who cares if it is a matter of not enough attendees or if it is a matter of weather . . .
It is what it is.
I am sure there are many disappointed people, but the show goes on.
