Just moved to the area around Colonel Francis Beatty Park (Off Tilley Morris / Weddington Rd) and looking for the best route to Uptown in morning traffic. Tried Providence Rd and variations of Monroe Rd but both are 45 min+ leaving at 7:00. Any other suggestions?

I'm not trying to be smart but honestly that's like asking what's the least painful nail to drive through your thumb.

I don't think there is a good way to get there. I'd probably go with the most direct and I suspect I'd wind up on the Monroe Road route. Good luck!

Personal helicopter?

I think you can pretty much count on 45 minutes. Have you tried leaving at 6:45? Sometimes those few minutes make a huge difference in traffic. You'd get to work early, but at least you'd be idling in traffic less.

Check out buses!

They run expresses every 20 minutes in the morning and afternoon, then they also run locals well into the evening. Closest for you is downtown Matthews, or the Home Depot lot at 16 and 485.

If you must drive, living near Beatty Park you can cut through Providence Plantation and come out on 16, or turn left on McKee, then right on Kuykendall then right on 16, but from there might as well settle in with a good books on tape and enjoy the hydrocarbons.

Monroe Rd would be my third option from where you live.
