I drive my son to soccer and usually on the way to soccer at around 5:30, Beatty's Barber Shop on Statesville Rd in Huntersville has no cars and seems fairly quiet. When I go home at 7ish, the place is packed. Parking lot is full and people are parked on the street in front. I've noticed it a few nights but definitely on Thursdays. There's a building behind Beatty's also, looks like a trailer almost but it seems to be getting some action too. So what's the deal with this place, popular beauty salon or something else going on there? Just curious..

If its the place I am thinking of then it was an old bar at one point. It was then turned into a car detailing place. Now its the barber shop. I believe there is some sort of bar behind it.

I could be completely wrong we are talking about the place across from Lake Norman Honda correct?

I think they meant to say "juke-joint" like a honky-tonk or roadhouse. Hardly ever hear those terms anymore. Known for drinking, music, gambling and dancing in the old days.

Thanks for the insight. Does sound like something's going on besides haircuts.

It might only open up later in the afternoon Thurs-Sat when people are most likely to be going out. Lots of barber shops do that.

Yes, across from the honda dealership. White brick building with big red letters.
