OBTW: the video Sunny posted is a million times more disturbing than the fight. I couldn't figure out if was re-enacting an old Tarzan movie from my youth, or a scene out of Star Trek from the outer reaches of the universe.
I just want to make it clear--the original video posted here was not in context and I did not understand what was going on in it--other than out of control behavior.
The other videos have been of pageants and I think those are fun events and I personally do not find such pageants offensive. I would attend one, actually, if invited.

I don't understand what you mean by "context". It was a brawl in Noda. It was enough to get the CMPD involved according to the local news. What other context is there than this?
The owner of the facility who rented the place to this bunch is upset that it happened.

The party said this was a video of the DNC Convention in Charlotte. Now, that's probably out of context. .
until posters pointed out this was some sort of gay pageant, I had no clue. Just looked like a lot of folks gathered for some type of event and it went terribly wrong b/c someone got angry.
Yeah my first assumption with seeing people in T-shirts speaking (what sounded to me like) a Carribbean language, was that this was the result of watching a soccer game.
It took those familiar with the "underground" scene in Charlotte to explain it to us "squares"
NODA is for sure a place where people such as myself dont want to visit....Its a trashy part of town.
Really? Up and down North Davidson street is far from "trashy". Along that road you have some great local breweries like Noda and Birdsong, and a bunch of great restaurants like Heist, Cabo, Crepe Cellar, Revolution Pizza and others. Add to that music venues like the Neighborhood Theater and The Evening Muse.
If anything, there are too many hipsters in the area wearing stupid hats and droning on and on about how awesome Mumford & Sons are.
