I live in Highland Creek. I live on the Cabarrus County side. We were just annexed into Concord County as well. You can't want for all the amenities around Highland Creek. You can access 85 and 77 easily. The Nomad Aquatic Center is right outside Highland Creek. I think people are happy in both neighborhoods. The gulf course keeps the equity up-even in this regressed economy. It is the highest level gulf course ranked in a community from what I hear. I have no kids, but if I did, this would be the community. It is so child oriented with all the pools (5 I think) (1 mini swim park), swim team, summer camps/activities, movies at the park, movies in the pool for the kids in the summer, and most of all...it is a walking/running/cycling community. The hills keep you in shape. You can't beat having the urgent care/pharmacies/dentists/ups/family physicians and at least 3 grocery stores, shops, and just built papa john's just 5 minutes away. Patrol cop/Cabarrus and Mecklenburg. If you live on the Mecklenburg side, you can not go wrong w/Highland Creek. I use to work for CMS. As most cities, your better schools are in your better neighborhoods. That is how the world revolves. Hope this helps you out.

Every time I drive by the aquatic center and past the new condos I always feel like there is a faint scent (not a good one by any means) in the air. This is from driving by in the car. Anyone else notice this or am I crazy?

Type in "Wallace Farms" using the search feature on this forum. That should answer your question.
