It's tough to plan. I made a feeble attempt a couple of months ago for a Fox and the Hound get together and there were some willing participants but it ended up being mostly my schedule that screwed it all up.
For anyone interested with such short notice we're going to the Bowling alley tonight (Friday Oct 20th) for a few beers and to let the kids bowl for a while. It's Northcross Lanes at the Lake at 16317 Statesville road in Huntersville. If you're coming to drink with us, I'll be the guy with a white ball cap that says adidas on the side and a mustard stain down the front of my shirt. If you're coming to kill me then I'll be the guy in overalls with an Nascar patch yelling yeehaw!!

The last minute plan is probably a good idea. I would have gone bowling but we had a dinner party last night.
