Is anyone else experiencing price increases from TWC frequently. It seems that I am seeing a price increase every few months without changing services. In the last year, my bill has gone up nearly $50. I've called to attempt to get it lower but they've stated that I'm actually in a promotional rate and it would be $40 higher otherwise.
Any advice on how to get my bill lowered? Or should I just switch providers?
My internet has gone from $35 to $51 in the last few months, including the new modem fee. But the service is good and it's still less than other services.
This is their standard procedure to deny you a discount if you call. Call again and when you call ask for the deactivate service option. When you call this option they will ask you why you are leaving. You can tell them it is because of rate hikes, I am sure at that point they will be a little more flexible. When you call it would help to have some competitor pricing in your back pocket in case they call your bluff. TWC and ATT will be out of business I suspect in the next 5-7 years. With Goggle Fiber now offering speed in many of the midwest cities it is only a matter of time before they conquer the south. There will be no way TWC can compete with them. Good Luck!
Thanks for the info guys. When I asked for the retention dept, they mentioned that dept no longer exist.
You don't ask for it, you just call to schedule a disco out about a week. For the most part I don't care about the rate increases cause I know what they are paying for programming costs. They will start to dump (showtime is one) to keep others like ESPN which is so expensive. They added NFL network and dumped ST. ME HAPPY

Funny how they existed 1 week ago when they called me.
