Unless the weather is a super storm, I never have anything but 100% clarity with Directv. Yes occasionally you will have a monster Thunderstorm mess it up for 10-15 minutes but unless you watch a lot of TV at 5pm in the summer, you will never notice. In 10+ years I think maybe once that I have missed a primetime show. Compared to the countless times my TWC DVR would crash and need to be replace, not to mention the dozens of shows I would lose by having to turn in the box, plus the terrible customer service, that is nothing.

So DirectTV for TV is decided.

Who else besides MIConnection as an option for internet only?

MI connection internet is good and reliable abut it is not cheap as a stand alone service, which to me is very, very annoying. They are running a deal right now in which they are offering cable, a land line, and 30mb internet for $99.99. I called them just the other day to try and talk them into giving me a deal on just the 30mb and they wanted $72.99 and would not budge on that price. Their stand alone 20mb is $49.99, which is what I used to have up until about ten months ago. I switched to WindStreams DSL which is 24mb and they gave me a deal where I only pay a total after taxes of $42 and change.
That's who I had, Windstream. But it was incompatible with the genie and instant playback on demand. It took hours to download a single half hour show. So annoying. I switched to TWC and no issues. But that price of $72 is a ripoff. I pay a little over half of that now with TWC since my $29 promo is up.

I had DirecTV once and never, ever again. I have been with DISH Network for three years and really like them a lot. The Hopper is very cool. I think TWC provides good high-speed internet, though I do think it is rather on the high side.

I recommend Time Warner just because of TWC news.

I am curious as to why you dislike DirecTV as I have had a totally opposite experience. I have never had Dish Network but my parents and a couple of friends have it and I think it's total crap compared to my DirecTV.

For me DirectTv is better anyway - I can get NFL Sunday Ticket free and YES Network for my NY Yankees.

Free you say? I myself haven't paid for Sunday Ticket in 6 years. Don't you love it!
