What kind of bars are you looking for?

Montford
South End
Noda

all offer different strokes for different folks.

Per the title of the post, the OP is looking in "Downtown Charlotte". Montford, South End and NODA aren't "downtown".

Try the Epicenter at College and Trade. Walk north a few blocks and you'll find some at college between 6th and 7th. There's also some good places around the corner of 5th and North Tryon.

That's just a few of the areas within a couple of blocks of each other. There's a lot of other good options uptown, too.

Whatever happened to the old Mythos nightclub and Cosmos Cafe? I know those once popular establishments have since closed, but what venues have taken their place?

Also there was a whole strip of nightclubs in that area around College St. including Bar Charlotte.

There are still bars and clubs in that area, just different names now.

There's also a strip of bars and clubs surrounding the NC Music Factory.
