BrightLine has Proposed a New High- speed passenger rail line connecting Charlotte to Atlanta. If this plan goes through in culmination with the expansion of Charlottes Light rail and regional transport system. This could bring even more people here. Especially transplants from Atlanta, with the Brightline system they could move here to escape Atlanta's Over Crowded Infrastructure and have a 2 hr commute to Atlanta for possible work. As Charlatans how do ya'll feel about this development that could possibly bring even more Transplants to Charlotte with its already crowded housing market?
And as I see it Once a Rail line is built to Connect Charlotte to Atlanta The next Logical Step would be a Rail Line from Charlotte to Raleigh - Dhuram then to Richmond then to D.C. Once the First Line is built then the others will surely quickly fallow connecting all major Cities on the East- Coast from NY-Florida.
I didn't read the article (don't feel like burning one of my limited free views for this) but I think the the logistical problems that would have to be overcome and the realistic time line for this project is so far in the future that its not worth speculating about.
BTW: its Charlotteans, not charlatans, lol.

As a private line tickets won't be subsidized. I don't see people living in Charlotte just to spend 4 hours roundtrip a day on the train to get to Atlanta. Charlotte just isnt that much cheaper than ATL to make it worth it. If anything the Greenville Spartanburg area would get people that commute to Atlanta or Charlotte via train.
It will be a nice alternative for business travelers over flying between the two cities. Most families will probably drive still due to scale covering gas in a car versus per person tickets

There are threads on this on the Greenville/Spartanburg & Atlanta boards.

He had it right. The definition fits the majority of the elected officials in Meck. Cty and the City.
Greenville-Spartanburg would benefit the most. It’s halfway between both cities. No one from ATL would move to CLT to escape overcrowding. They’d move to upstate S.C. and commute from there. And can easily go to ATL or CLT for any amenities lacking in Greenville-Spartanburg.
Acela connects Boston/NYC/Philly/Baltimore/DC....so Charlotte/GSP/ATL is going to be profitable? Nice idea but seriously?
