DMV - Drivers License Renewal (car registration, bills, car)

Can anybody confirm how this works now, I read somewhere that they no longer road sign test and it is just an eye test.

Also do I need to specifically request Real ID or is that now automatic.

When I renewed my license a couple of years ago, I just had to do the eye test. At that time, I specifically requested the Real ID.

Real ID is optional.

Be sure you have the documents required for the real id when you go to the DMV.

Thanks, shocking to me how many documents as in bills never come in the mail any more.

So looking at the list, passport SS card, car registration and voter card and I will be good and have all 4 readily available.

Bills can be printed off from online.

Update this was very painless, took less than 25 minutes.
