We here have the a/c on, plus a fan(Huge) in each room. Lots of cold drinks. Used to like the heat a lot, when younger. Just get kida sick if I have to walk in it for a bit. So I go out when absolutely necessary.
Sounds like me. Our house stays 68-70 degrees year round (at least this is the sleeping temperature).
The heat doesn't really bother me-I actually like it. It beats cold, dingy winters and as long as you stay hydrated, it's great! I would like to install a ceiling fan in my garage though...not much breeze there.
Air conditioned house to air conditioned car to air conditioned job to air conditioned stores...did I mention A/C?
Is it possible that Uptown is hotter than outlying areas? I work near Ballantyne and it might just be me...but it seems hotter to me when I get home. Have heard some people say city heat...is that possible?
Living in SoFla until 2 weeks ago, this heat is bearable. I was in the parking lot of Plaza Fiesta yesterday, and the walk to the building was pretty hot; but dry like Vegas, not wet like Miami. We will see what happens when it hits 100 like last year, that number would kill in Miami (especially the elderly).
I still consider myself young and vibrant but Sliding Rock to me is traumatic.
Some reason when I go down after hitting that chilling cold pool at the bottom I always feel lilke I am in shock.
However if you need to put holes in the rear of your pants that is the best place to go.
I guess I will be grateful that it was a bit warmer for us than it was for you - 48 degrees for a high would have been a bit traumatic for an outdoor wedding!
We lost about $20 in the casino. After that we called it a day.
But, to get back on topic, I agree with the other poster who said they go from an air-conditioned house to an air-conditioned car to an air-conditioned office. I love my a/c!

Yeah, that's right! This week I turned on my A/C. I'll admit it.... I'm cheap. When it gets to the point where I can't sleep at night because I'm lying there sweating I then turn on the A/C, but not before then.
Bah this isn't hot.. Try 115 for 30 days, and it cooles to 105 at night!.. Yes Phoenix, AZ the place where people learn to never go outside for 90 straight days!
(and yes I know it gets hot here, but I will take 30 to 45 days of hot, with still cooling nights anyday)
Best way to beat the heat: a couple of Texaco stations around here have these AMAZING slushy machines with a cherry-lime nectar of the gods concoction that not only makes you feel all cool inside, but gives you temporary super powers.
Seriously ... it's that good.
