Yes, Lunchbox and Manifest are good. central records caters more to dj's. Vibe Tribe has been closed for 2-3 years. It's a Quizno's now. Used to get me records there.
Hands down, Manifest is the best store around, I'd even go so far as to say one of the best in the South. They even have in-store performances. FYI, you can walk to it from the light rail line now, just get off at the Archdale Station.
I just about wrecked my 300zx cutting thru the neighborhood yesterday when I saw REPO RECORDS back but in a different spot! As an older BBoomer whose hobby is collecting with a 20-somethingson, I am delighted to tell him that the store is back in Plaza Midwood. YESSSSSS! It is a clean, decent sized store with easy parking and a friendly staff and owner is the same Jimmy Parker who owned it when it was in on Central ave since the late 80s.
