I'm looking for more "eclectic" i.e. non-Corporate Cookie Cutter record stores in the Charlotte area.

I have a very eclectic taste in music that's largely subculture oriented.....so, corporate stores generally just don't cut it.

Reccomendations?

-Ryan

Default Lunch Box records on Central

Great little store, just before the Dairy Queen on Central if you're coming from the direction of uptown.

Yes, Lunchbox and Manifest are good. central records caters more to dj's. Vibe Tribe has been closed for 2-3 years. It's a Quizno's now. Used to get me records there.

Manifest is the best in South Charlotte (IMHO).

I agree on Minefest, then Lunch Box. I unfortunatly find most of my music on-line these days.

Default they're baaaaaack!

I just about wrecked my 300zx cutting thru the neighborhood yesterday when I saw REPO RECORDS back but in a different spot! As an older BBoomer whose hobby is collecting with a 20-somethingson, I am delighted to tell him that the store is back in Plaza Midwood. YESSSSSS! It is a clean, decent sized store with easy parking and a friendly staff and owner is the same Jimmy Parker who owned it when it was in on Central ave since the late 80s.
