Even religious people do sex. Charlotte has always been a wide open city in that department. In the 1950s they used to say that Charlotte had as many W....houses as churches. My guess is that XXX items are in certain areas. They used to be around Eastway Drive, Wilkerson Blvd., Central Avenue, and other places throughout. They are just doing a better job at keeping these places subdued these days. I am sure that computers have put a big dent in business though?

Charlotte has a sexually-oriented business "SOB" license...all adult stores must be 1500 sq. ft from a church, residential-zoned area, day care, park etc.

And while we're at it..the worlds largest online adult VOD company is based in Charlotte (AEBN) and one of the largest adult merchandise distributors is in South Charlotte off Tyvola near I-77 LOL

Toss in a rather famous Swingers Club and 13 Strip Clubs and that whole "Bible Belt" thing kinda goes out the window. :-)

Does anyone on the list remember Thompson Bootery and Bloomery, they were at the corner on Independence Blvd and Pecan Ave.
They had a long display front full of mannequins wearing all kinds of sexy stuff.
Back in the 80s every now and then they would put a live model in the window, she'd stand real still for a while and then suddenly move just a little.
I almost broke my neck one afternoon when I was stopped at the light and she moved just before it changed. I think they had to stop doing it because there were so many fender benders....
