"* Last week, BB&T bank announced they "will not lend to commercial developers that plan to build condominiums, shopping malls and other private projects on land taken from private citizens by government entities using eminent domain." I hope other banks will follow suit."
I'm enjoying a new respect for BB&T if they stick to that statement.
You know, I have driven past that sign countless times and never knew what happened or how to find out what happened.....I can't recall a park near there either, I'll have to look when I'm out later headed that way......Thanks!|
It must be SOME park over there, so close to my house I never knew it was there.....LOL. Matthews' best kept secret maybe?

They have not torn down his house or built any type of park there as of now. I pass there every day. I went to school with his 2 kids back in the 60's, 70's. I can't belive the town of Matthews would do that to one of it's citizens. I bank at BB&T and glad that took that approach to not lend them money for situations like this.
Well actually BB&T have tightened there lending criteria. They are not a free giving as they once were. They were known to give investors and such loans without much paper work. Maybe this is one of the "other" reasons this is in place?
Just a thought.
