I got a call tonight that my best friend died. She fell and cracked her head open on the bathtub!!! I'm just in shock and trying not to go over the deep end.

OH Dori, that's tragic, is she back in NJ or MD? Is your husband there with you? I'm so sorry to hear that news...

Uncgdad, please allow me to say how sorry I am that you got stuck with this one!!! Yes, DH is here, but he went up to bed at my insistance. He's at a loss and really upset himself. I didn't join him because the calls were still coming in. She lives in Maryland and has been my best friend for 29 years! I just can't wrap my head around it and am just trying to stay on this side of sanity right now. Thank you for listening

That's ok, we've formed a little support group here, and seems like lots of things happening to anyone of us, we all jump in to se if we can help out or at least listen....I'm assumming you have friends down here you can get together with tomorrow? Heck, I'm around, just job searching, let me know, it's ok!

Oh no, I'm so sorry to hear about your girlfriend. I was wondering why you were still single??? I lost my mom to the same thing.
Please don't worry, I already feel better getting it out. WHat I need to do is go out on the back porch and scream, but my kids are asleep and they were kept up way past their bedtime from my cries earlier. Kids should never have to know such sorrow and they have had a hell of a couple of years. I would go to the gym and run on the treadmill for the rest of the night , but Im afraid for my safety and I look like the elephant man!!!!!

Luckily, I've become friends with a neighbor this last month and I will call her tomorrow. I may be in touch to hear about your support group. I'm really very strong, but I don't know how I'm gonna get through this one!!

You could always scream into a pillow, that works....I still miss Kathy, cry about her often, when I see things she's written to me, oh, just forget it, I lose it...when did you find out? Just a short time ago? Is she married?

Married? That story would get a criminal crying. 2 1/2 years ago, and one week after thier son graduated high school, her husband kissed her goodbye before going to ride bikes with their son. He hit a bump, fell, broke his neck and died. His son found him in a ditch . Son feels guilty to this day that if he hadn't removed the helmet, maybe his father would still be alive. Guess who found his mother in the bathroom?
