I second Mamma Ricotta's. On Sunday and Monday they have a special menu that is "the stuff you would have on Sundays". Lasagna, Baked ziti, chicken parm, etc....and half price bottles of Italian wine, in addition to the regular menu. I've been meaning to try Villa Antonio's but it looks like a place I wouldn't bring kids. Is that right?

The Open Kitchen on West Morehead, just the other side of I-77 from Panther stadium.
They've been in the same place since 1952.

Doorway, V.A. is pretty fancy. I never noticed if there were kids when we ate there, but we don't have kids ourselves, so to be honest that's the kind of thing I'm a little "tone deaf" on. I will check our Mamma Ricottas!

Portofino's is yummy! There are also locations in Ayrsley (Steele Creek), on Eastway and in Gastonia.

Welcome to Portofino's Italian Restaurant!

Angelas uses WAY too much sauce. Last time we went there I couldn't even tell what was underneath it.
