I was thinking the same thing...you don't really want a sled..but a toboggan or a trash can lid.

Yes, I know, I was corrected at each store. What we bought was a piece of purple plastic that holds 3 small kidlets. The kidlets hold onto the sides, or the lead rope at the front. So, not a sled, but a long piece of plastic? Or is that considered a toboggan? Rememeber, I'm only 9 months removed from a lifetime in Miami.

Something more like a snowboard, not a sled w/ runners. We used sleds w/ runners in the midwest but I grew up here using everything from big pieces of cardboard (torn up boxes) to garbage can lids.

Trash can lids are good, just remember, when you are heading towards something solid, like a tree, move your legs. My brother broke his leg doing this. Didn't say he was the brightest bulb in the lamp.

That sounds like a modified toboggan... Don't forget, get your terminology right!! (like it really matters)

Actually, if we get as much snow as they say, you may well be able to use a regular sled....

This reminds me growing up near here and the neighborhood I lived in had huge hills the type you have to push a bike up because it was so steep to pedal up.

Anyways one of my friends dad to a long piece of plywood and tied a rope to one end and we would get about five people on it and sled down the hill.
It was a hoot because you would be going forward the next thing you are going backwards then stop when you hit the ditch that had dog poo in it.. Good times

As mention earlier I have 2 saucer maybe I could rent them out tomorrow
