old pieces of kitchen flooring works too. Heck I remember my mom in SC wrapping a game board up in trash bags and sending us down big slick hills. Gosh I still have a scar from a tree!
No, don't go buy a BIG sled, it will never work on our snow. You need something very light weight. Truly, something like a piece of floor tile or cafeteria tray works best. We actually used an old election sign one year and it was perfect! (I'm not telling you to go pull up any of those housing signs plastered around here every weekend, but hey...)
Thanks for the suggestions, we are off to Sun & Ski Sports. Everyone I called was out, but they said they have some. The last time it snowed, we borrowed a sled and Alex used it on the golf course slopes. She would like her own this time.
OK, they didnt have any for girls at Sun & Ski, only Transformers. We called around, and ended up at Alpine Ski in South End. They had exactly the one she wanted, and the price hadnt been marked up. We werent the only sled shoppers, so I grabbed it and carried it around the Store to make sure we wouldnt miss out. Now all we need is the snow!
are you talking about a sled with runners ? If so I hope you do get to use it but they dont do to well in our typical snow unless there is a sheet of ice. Good luck and have fun.
