I do the commute about 3 times a week but I head further north on 85. It not bad on traffic but you will run into someone doing 10 mph below the limit on hwy 73.

Your probably searching so you can be close to the amenities of Charlotte and If I was you I would look in Concord. I drove by these today but I have no knowledge of what kind of complex it is but it is really huge. but right off 485 near 85 Pavillion Crossing Pavilion Crossings Apartments 1801 Willow Haven Lane, Charlotte, NC 28262 Free Apartment Locating Service Offerred by Apartment Selector includes reviews, ratings, floorplans, rates, picutres and more!
Maybe someone has knowledge of them.

I lived in Cornelius and worked in Salisbury. It is about 45-60 minutes depending on where in Salisbury you need to get to. It could be a bit less depending on where in Huntersville you will be coming from.

I still work in Salisbury, but I now live in Mooresville, so it is a little bit closer. However, I my 2nd job is in Cornelius, so I still do Salisbury to Cornelius three times a week. I don't think it is all that bad of a commute. You are opposite the traffic.

Did the Huntersville to Salisbury "commute" 10's if not hundreds of times. I lived in Huntersville and elderly mom lived in Salisbury (I grew up there). From more or less Bradley Middle School the drive was pretty much 48-50 minutes, averaged over all times. Just a bit more than 45 and less than an hour.

I COULD NOT DO THAT regularly, over time, however.

I honestly don't find it that bad, but depends on where in Salisbury. If you need to take 85 up then forget it, but if you can go the back route, take 150 up, its only about 30 minutes. Again, depends on where in Salsibury and where in Huntersville, add 15 minutes for each possibly. I don't wish anyone an hour commute, though I did it for 4 years, so I can understand wanting to live in Huntersville vs. Salisbury. The further north the better. You will be going against traffic, so not too bad on 77. If you go the 85 route, you have to get north of that mess near the Mall.

Default Also moving to Salisbury with kids

Hi,
I just got a job in Salisbury. I have a Kindergartner so need to look out for a good school district. My priorities are
1. Good school district
2. reasonable commute to Salisbury
3. Closer to Charlotte
4. Looking to rent a townhome or single family home

Please advice on options. Thanks very much.

Live in Concord - your commute will be about 30 minutes and schools are mostly all good

I agree with this. It takes a lot longer than one would think by looking at the maps. It's worse if you are on the west side of I77.
