movedtothecoast did not say anything even resembling that it's a big deal.. he actually even stated it is "no big deal". this is how petty things get started and threads go wayyy off the beaten path.. I would expect more from you, SunnyKayak, being that you have that little star next to your name.

michael, it may be the bible belt type of area.. and even if people invite you to services or ask you about church, i highly highly doubt anyone will be bothering you about conversion or such things. if anything, it is just a way of them welcoming you to the area w/ the best of warm intentions. it is most definitely a melting pot - you will be fine!

I agree. I don't really believe in anything, yet this is America and I don't care if people pray at their table. This shows that we are free to do as we wish. People that contend to be open minded and become annoyed at such trivial matters should get over it. I am sure as we get more and more individuals moving here from all over, we are bound to see more praying at tables. I hope it meets everyone's approval.
