i would think that is worth it

at least with all the construction going on

+1 I bought the 'tire insurance' or whatever they called it with my current lease. Just ONE tire completely pays for the cost of the plan.

Yeah, that is offered at nearly every dealer afaik. DH works in that industry, he also said almost no one buys it. I don't think it applies to normal wear and tear, just accidents like what happened to the OP.

I'm always running over stuff and hitting curbs so I got it too

Himain I have high performance tires on my Corvette. The last time prior to the recent last time that I replaced the tires they ran almost $2k. I bought my most recent set through Discount Tire for $800. So there are deals out there to be had. By the way I have HRE 547 wheels.

Both my high performance tired on the camero and and my truck I go through Discount. I buy their warranty plan. It's worth it. But even my special off road truck tires (not special made just high end) are $200 a piece. I haven't had to buy them for the new car, but I checked into them as I was pricing things out and they were $500 through the dealers, similar tires through discount are $210.

As for your particular situation, I agree talk to the construction manager, legally they don't have to do much, but they may be willing or if you could prove gross negligence. Secondly, many of the better tires can be patched well, even with a bolt. As long as it's not in the wall of the tire.

I have to know what you are driving that a set of four tires installed is $160, a lawn mower?

Heck I replaced ONE tire on a Vespa 250 last year and it was $90 (tire) + $15 (mount on wheel) and I still had to install the wheel myself.
I can't get two new tires installed on a motorcycle for under $125 unless I shop online, wait a few weeks, and install & balance myself (which I do).
Z rated low profile sets (car) approach $2K installed, and I get 25K miles if I am VERY lucky, 17-20K is more like it.
On our mini-van a set of good tires touches $600 installed, but 30-40K is normal.

Please reveal your secret.

Yeah...a lawn mower....that's it.

I drive a Dodge Caravan...and there is a tire shop in my town, all he does is tires....my family has been going there for 30 years for tires.
I don't really see the sense in the "designer" tires....they still get nails in them, get flat, wear out..etc. They may look cool, but they aren't any better.
