Love that I can buy 4 new tires for $160.

160 for all 4? Thats kind of hard to believe. Are you sure you don't mean 160 for 2?

Y, I would have to see a receipt to believe $160 for 4 tires installed (mounted, balanced, new stems).
And how long to they last? 30-40K+ miles?

If true, this shop will have my unconditional business for the family car (van).

Nice wheels, I'm sure nice ride. Probably low profiles. I just sold my wife's SLK32AMG (on ebay), I buy all my tires at TireRack -save $100s on tires www.tirerack.com.

Less expensive tires are quickly catching up to big name tires and you are just paying for the name (unless they don't make your size).

And we don't really have to worry about snow here which lets us get a harder compound which lasts longer.
Ditto on the Kuhmos. On certain cars these tires are the best value you can find, sometimes 1/2 the price on comparable tires.

Thank you so much for the ideas. I'll go by discount tire with the original and see if they can patch it. IF not, i'll get a quote.

NC-mom--This car already comes with the high performance tires on it from MB with the option I chose.

Good luck himain.

$160 for 4 does sound cheap, however, I see $50 tires for 40K miles. Even Discount has $70 tires installed with $100 coupons. Though of course mine were $900

I just purchased 2 tires for a small cargo trailer and it was 212.00. I should have put caravan wheels on my trailer. In all seriousness I used Tirerack.com and purchased 4 Pirelli PZeros for my Jaguar and Got each tire 110.00 cheaper then the lowest price in Charlotte. It was great.

I just went to Discount tire. Of course tire can't be plugged and to replace almost exact same was $297 but Kumo's were $197. They have different load capacities or some crap like that. Letting the bf handle..Im done.
