There are a bunch of employers in University Research Park, and along Harris Blvd as it approaches I-77. IBM, AT&T, Tiaa-Cref, Wachoia/Wells, and many others.

Are they still allowing a 1st and 2nd at closing to avoid PMI? For example a 80% primary loan and a 10-15% 2nd (net 5-10% down).

We're(I) going to make Loves a fan of NE Charlotte if it's the last thing I do!

oh baybook, I AM a fan of that quadrant of the city already - just not every single square inch of it - there are a few borders on the south end to avoid. I've said time and time again, Highland Creek is an awesome subdivision which has done nothing but appreciate since it was first built 15+ years ago. I also really like Harrisburg and Concord. When someone's job is up that direction I frequently recommend your end of town as a great place to be

If it takes you 45 min to get to UPtown from HC, you're doing something wrong. I'm about 12 min from Uptown and No more than 10 from HC, maybe????

Prehaps you are taking the freeway. You may want to try the city streets.
