Myers Park is the easy answer to this question. No explanation needed.

Seven Eagles is the less obvious answer. More specifically, Seven Eagles Ln. A lot of the Charlotte-area big wigs have houses here: Hendricks, Becks, Swishers, Shinns, and Cameron Harris. Plus its gated to keep out the riff-raff. Only big timers need apply: 3247 Seven Eagles Rd, Charlotte, NC 28210 - Zillow

Pellyn Woods is nice. Its secluded and not as well-known. The tree-lined streets are fun to drive. This house is insane: 2019 Craigmore Dr, Charlotte, NC 28226 - Zillow

Courance is a small sub-sub-division of Pellyn Woods. Its gated, the streets are cobble-stoned, and it has a French villa feel to it. Fun fact: Gwenyth Paltrow lived here while filming Shallow Hal: Courance Neighborhood Association

Morrocroft Estates is another easy option. Its gated, so crime doesnt exist here, and the houses are, of course, amazing: 4536 Fox Brook Ln, Charlotte, NC 28211 - Zillow

What do you mean by the city? Uptown?
What is a city neighborhood to you?

Charlotte has very few "city neighborhoods" if your definition is something like a Brooklyn, or other urban neighborhoods with lots of rowhouses and other dense housing. On the other hand, one of the unique things about Charlotte is that there are many close-in "in town" neighborhoods with a slightly more suburban feel, with great housing and great schools that are safe - Myers Park is one of them - but you pay a lot to live there.

BBSLM, those are all amazing homes, but I wouldn't consider any of them to be in Myers Park...

Hi Everyone,

I will be relocating to Charlotte and working near UNC Charlotte. I'm looking for a quiet apartment complex with fitness center, pool and washer/dryer in the unit. Any ideas? My price range is 600-800. Ideally, I'd like to pay 750.

There isn't a BEST neighborhood, but South Charlotte (Area 5, zip code 28277) is the newest, nicest area. I'd say some of the best S. Charlotte neighborhoods are Ballantyne Country Club, Kensington @ Ballantyne, Highgrove, Piper Glen, Providence Country Club, and Bridgehampton.
