When I got to NY I drive through the Virginia/West Virginia/Pennslyvania/New York Route. I know there are tolls somewhere in Virginia or West Virginia I think there are two, one is $1 or something like that. I'm usually asleep at this point, so I don't pay close attention. I know the Pittsburgh route is usually under construction, and It costs like $6 to get in and out of NY. I cannot beleive I Have to pay to get in NY and then get Out of NY.

I will email my sister and ask about easy pass I know she comes to NC and has one. Good Luck.

EZ Pass does not work in NC. It works only in states that actually use EZ Pass. Check this link: http://www.ezpass.com/static/info/facilities.shtml (broken link)

I also suggest taking the "back" way (78 to 81 to 77). Very scenic route.

If you take the Jersey turnpike to 95, then 85, the EZ pass comes in handy. Otherwise don't bother.
